The Little Things (Exhibition)
With the exception of Excersices in Sharing (Finger) & (Practice Makes Perfect), all of the pieces included in the exhibition were installed per the curator’s requested direction — having someone else play with your things is an important exercise in and of itself. Gallery visitors were invited to touch the objects I have created.

I am Here and You are Distant

Viewer-participants were invited to ascend the ladder to peer into the attic. The movement of their torsos entering the attic triggered motion sensors that controlled a 1973 Cannonball train set that encircled the space and audio tracks. A small video camera was hidden amongst the things in the attic and transmitted video to the televisions on the ground floor. The resulting images on the television were a live video feed from the point of view of the things in the attic. When no viewer was in the attic, the image was static — as soon as a viewer entered the attic, the attic was brought to life.

A rope runs through a series of screw eyes and a pulley and is affixed to a wooden appendage that controls a bass drum pedal. By tugging the hanging rope, the participant-viewer beats a hidden bass drum.
